The day is mild for a Minnesota winter. About 30 degrees. The sky is blue, though not bright. The sun is at a low angle. The birds are happy. The snow is softening. I went outside with a tube of bubbles I bought at the toy store on clearance for $1.00. Feeling like a kid, I took the wand and swiped it through the air letting the bubbles free and tossing the bubble wand into the snow. As fast as I could, I lifted the camera and focused. With the slight breeze, this was harder than it might have been as the bubbles took off across the meadow. I tried to pick a single bubble to focus on before it burst. To the left is a field with the remnants of fall and to the right a hill with trees...
To the person who is wondering what enhancements I might have done to achieve this effect, the answer is virtually none. I tweaked the exposure ever so slightly brighter, but I still wanted the background to stay dark so I also brought up the blacks a very small amount. But this is nearly identical to what came out of the camera.
