The behavior of my dog looking up at the table during supper is something I understand. The sandpiper squawking 10 yards from her nest to distract us from her babies I also understand. But the behavior of a dragonfly who buzzes around me for ten minutes -- that I don't get. This dragonfly made big circles around me, over and over again. Sometimes it hovered above my head and other times back to circling. Was it curious? Did I smell interesting? Was I near its feeding ground?
The dragonfly darted and swerved like it was drunk. Focusing on it was crazy hard. My automatic focus couldn't manage the erratic flying, it so used manual focus. After examining about 50 shots, this was the best of the bunch. Its rear side.
