For portrait photography, I've been shooting predominantly studio shots these days. I love the control the lights give me over my subjects. It's versatile, creative, and although not always predictable, at least it's interesting in its variability. I love studio lights. And Baby C. is a fun subject.

I've been photographing Baby C. for a few months now, mostly in the studio. But a new opportunity requires me to shoot indoors with natural light -- so I've been practicing on her. There's a softness in the lighting that is pleasing to my eye. Easier for the baby too.

It's good to have skills to handle any lighting situation. And always nice to have a beautiful neighbor baby as a subject!
